Visa Application charges to be refunded due to Covid

The following visa holders may be able to apply for a refund, if their travel has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic:

VISITORS

Visitor visa holders who are overseas and whose visas expired (or will expire) between March 2020 and December 2021 will be eligible to apply for a fee waiver when applying for a new visa.

WORKING HOLIDAY MAKERS

Working Holiday visa holders who were unable to come to Australia or who were forced to leave early due to COVID-19 will also be able to apply for a fee waiver if they wish to apply again. Working Holiday visa holder who are unable to return because they can no longer meet the requirements will be able to claim a refund.

TEMPORARY SKILLED WORKERS

Temporary Skill Shortage and Temporary Work visa holders who were unable to make their initial entry to Australia due to COVID-19 will be able to claim a fee waiver for subsequent applications if they wish to apply again and if they (and their employers) continue to meet the visa programs requirements.

PROSPECTIVE MARRIAGE VISA HOLDERS

Many PMV holders were unable to travel to Australia to get married as planned due to imposed travel restrictions. These visa holders will be able to apply for a refund in order to lodge a new application. Subsequent visa applications will be prioritised.
